An inventory of dust emission from paved roads of the metropolitan area of Shanghai City is accomplished on the basis of field experiments and an inventory of traffic and road conditions. The result shows the annual amount of road dust emission contributed to the ambient TSP pollution of Shanghai City is approximately 12,300 tonnes (in 354 km2).
