W ITH the increased use of adrenal corticosteroids during the past few years, there have appeared many reports of their undesirable side effects. One of the most serious has been peptic ulceration, with or without perforation or hemorrhage13 ?. 4-7 This has been a deterring factor in the use of these agents, especially in patients with a previous history of peptic ulcer. There have been few published report+ 3 of routino serial x-rays of t,htl upper gastrointestinal tract of patients who were being maintained on longterm corticosteroid therapy. It is the purpose of this study to determine the incidence of pept.ic ulccrat’ion in a group of allergic patients maintained on triamcinolona -for a long period of time.
