ResumoThe case of an 11-month-old infant with a benign intrathoracic lipoma is presented. This lesion is rare in infants. Radiographically the tumor appears as an extrapleural mass with sharp margins, frequently displacing the lung and pleura. Rib erosion may occur. The mass appears less dense than other solid tumors of comparable size due to its high fat content. Surgical excision is recommended for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
