Resumo

1. The average values for the blood of the scorpion were (mM/1) Na, 210; K, 1·37; Cl, 266; SO4, 1·1; Ca, 6·08; Mg, 10·43; sugars, 38·8 mg/100 ml; amino acids, 5·22 mg/100 ml; non-protein N, 41·4 mg/100 ml; protein N, 11·8 mg/ml; blood volume, 34·5 ml/100 g body wt.; osmotic pressure, 1·35% NaCl. 2. The influence of sex, size, temperature and starvation on blood constituents is discussed.
