ResumoThis work aimed to evaluate the physics and chemical characteristics of the main types of waters, to relate them with the classes of soils; to use its characteristics to identify the main environments. Thirteen waters samples from delta of the Doce River were analyzed. Through the analysis of water is possible to identify some environments, for example, the thiomorphics. It was verified the presence of industry residual waters ponds with high contents of sodium and lead, indicating the possibility of environment contamination by the overflowing of the Doce river or by the direct contamination of the water table.
