ResumoThe picoplancton populations from two brackish water environments showed abundances of both cyanobacteria and eukaryotic microalgae. Among the cyanobacteria most forms belonged to Chroococcales. Eukaryotic microalgae were represented by species belonging to Chlorophyceae ( Chlorella ), Bacillariophyceae ( Nitzschia ) and Chrysophytes.
