Her dissertation, “Genre Trouble: Jeanette Winterson's Sexual/Textual Politics of the Performative,” investigates how contemporary subversions of generic codes function as performative speech acts that further problematize hegemonic definitions of gender, sexuality, subjectivity, and conventional narrative form. Don Moore is a PhD candidate at McMaster University in English and Cultural Studies. He has published articles on Critical Theory, Canadian adaptations of Shakespeare, ethics, politics, gender and globalization studies, and has contributed articles to the University of Guelph's PREA award-winning Canadian Shakespeares Web site. He also contributed, with his co-author, a chapter in an upcoming book on film adaptation.
