Abstract 1. 1. The multiple lectin compositions in the coelomic fluid of the acorn barnacle Megabalanus rosa changed seasonally. 2. 2. The total amounts of multiple lectins varied from 14 mg/100 ml to 52 mg/100 ml in the coelomic fluid and exhibited a maximal level in early summer. 3. 3. Ovarian maturation was observed after the lectin level reached the maximum. 4. 4. Immunohistochemical study revealed that immunoreactive lectins (BRA-2 and BRA-3) were found in almost all barnacle tissues examined. Specific immunostaining was especially prominent in the cirri. There was no difference in the density of staining between BRA-2 and BRA-3 in any tissue.
