Far-i.r. spectra of napthalene, anthracene, biphenyl, diphenyl ether, diphenylamine, diphenyl sulfoxide, and benzophenone at liquid helium temperature

Resumo

The far-infrared spectra of naphthalene, anthracene, biphenyl, diphenyl ether, diphenylamine, diphenyl sulfoxide and benzophenone are measured in the region about 50—30 cm− at liquid helium temperature. The far-i.r. spectra in the region of 190—50 cm−1 are also measured for naphthalene and anthracene at liquid helium temperature. Some absorption bands are observed in the far-i.r. region below 50 cm−1 for diphenyl ether, diphenylamine, diphenyl sulfoxide and benzophenone. No absorption band is observed for naphthalene, anthracene and biphenyl in the region of 50—30 cm−1. Some bands due to lattice Vibrations are observed in the region of 190—50 cm−1 for naphthalene and for anthracene at liquid helium temperature.
