The present study is an analysis of the water balance of the River Ernesto catchment area in Pitanga city, Paraná State -Brazil.Methodologically, the study is based on a simpli� ed water balance technique that includes data on precipitation, water � ow and evapotranspiration.The months of August and November could be identi� ed as those with the smallest water de� cit, whereas the months of October and December showed a peak de� cit.
