Resumo

Collagen is one of the most abundant and versatile proteins in the animal kingdom. Recent studies have related the diverse properties of animal connective tissue to the structure of the collagen molecule and to the variety of assemblies it is capable of forming both by itself and in conjunction with materials such as minerals, proteoglycan and other proteins.
