Abstract An extension of previous work on the Barrier and Cobar pediplains shows the main extent of these to be cut below, and to postdate, residual surfaces capped with silcrete crusts and bearing deep weathering‐profiles. The environmental relationship between areas of ferricreting and areas of silcreting remains obscure.
