Resumo

Masai women did not show hypercholesteremia during the third trimester of pregnancy despite their customary diet which is rich in animal fat and protein. The data suggest that diet fat is not an important determinant of cholesteremia in pregnancy, unless the high quality of the animal protein diet or a high degree of physical fitness is an overriding protection.
