Eyes were collected fresh from abatoir or studied in the gross anatomy dissecting laboratory of the Institute of Veterinary Medicine. A comparison of these species is made regarding the description of the mode of insertion of these muscles. Summary The insertion of the extrinsic muscles of the eyeball in horse, donkey, mule, cow, buffalo, camel, sheep, goat, pig, dog and cat was studied. The insertion of these muscles can be differentiated from each other in different domestic animals by several features including the form, position and direction of their line of insertion.
