Resumo

The P/asmodium juxtanuc/eare is one of the etiologia agents to Aviary Malaria, that is clinicaly characterized by anaemia, • sadness, inappetence, locomotor incoordenation prostration and death.This study aimed to determine the occurence of this parasite in Pernambuco State.Were analised 35 blood smears, stained by Giemsa method, of chicken from rustic breedings in the Metropolitan Region of Recife.The erythrocyte forms of the parasite observed were: Throphozoites, schizontes and gamethorntes.The poltnes showed by parasitaemia, characterizing cronic and asympotomatic desease.From the toti:ll of analised samples, • 51.4% were positiva.Describes by the first time the occurence of Plasmodium juxtanuc/eare in Pernambuco State -Brazil.
