ResumoSeldom has the lyric poetry of Mira de Amescua served as a source for the study of his poetic abilities. In the meditative poem A vos, fruto sagrado..., Mira employs the Ignatian meditative process to provide a structured dramatic expression to his personal religious encounter, which is central to this poem. The poem sheds new light on Mira as a lyric poet and is an example of the diffusion in Golden Age Spain of the genre of the meditative poem, already established by modern scholarship as having been widely popular among Mira's English contemporaries.
