Maloney Treasurer of the Western Mining Group from 1984 to 1988, and is currently Executive Vice President of the company's Toronto-based North American subsidiaries. I wish to acknowledge the contribution of my colleagues in the Treasury Department–Basil Jenkins, Alan Knights, and Julian Thornton—to the development of understanding of Western Mining's foreign exchange exposure and of strategies to manage it.
