‘Remember, never go by Cupar Street’ (Ciaran Carson 1989). This invitation to revisit the paper that was published in Irish Geography in 1969 provides an opportunity to make a number of retrospective comments. We cannot change what has already taken place, including rewriting what is already in print, but we can add to that which is already in print and see things from the perspective of some 40 years later.
