The aim of this paper is to describe and analyze the railroad projects not implemented in Santa Catarina made between the years 1867 to 1923. The text is divided into five parts. Initially, we will make a brief introduction on the first attempt to implement a railroad in the Santa Catarina coal land in Laguna. Then we will present the state awards: Estrada de Ferro Nova Capital ao Litoral – 1895, Estrada de Ferro São Francisco a Estreito – 1895, Estrada de Ferro Brusque a Itajaí – 1895, Ferrovia de Florianópolis – 1896, Estrada de Ferro São Francisco a Jaraguá – 1896, Estrada de Ferro Porto Belo ao Planalto Serrano – 1898, Estrada de Ferro Blumenau ao Rio Negro – 1898 and Estrada de Ferro Porto Belo ao Rio Iguaçu – 1912. Thirdly, we discuss in more depth the following projects: Estrada de Ferro Dom Pedro I, Estrada de Ferro Estreito a Lages, Estrada de Ferro São Francisco-Assunção and Estrada de Ferro Estreito-Chopim. Next, you will see the project of integration of EFDTC with EFSPRG, linking the south with the west. Finally, the project frustrated Network Catarinense railroad in 1923, bringing together the entire state forming a rail system Catarina.
