ResumoBIRTH NARRATIVES IN GENESIS AND LUKE BY C. T. RUDDICK, Jr. Providence Lucan scholarship has become increasingly conscious of the in- fluence of the Old Testament scriptures on the composition of the gospel, especially in the nativity stories 1). It is now clear that such influence extends far beyond direct quotations and obvious paral- lels to rather subtle verbal reminiscences and allusions.
