The basic laws of a special relativistic theory of continuous media suitable for the treatment of electromagnetic interactions with materials are formulated. The kinematics, dynamics and thermodynamics of a continuum are discussed from a relativistic viewpoint. Constitutive equations are deduced for thermoelastic solids, thermoviscous fluids and electromagnetic materials. Part I considers the mechanical and thermodynamical aspects of the theory of continuous media from a relativistic viewpoint. Part II considers the electromagnetic interaction with matter. Les auteurs présentent les bases d'une théorie relativiste spéciale des milieux continus qui s'applique aux interactions électromagnétiques dans la matiére. La cinématique, la dynamique et la thermodynamique d'un continuum sont étudiées à partir d'un point de vue relativiste. Il en résulte les équations de constitution des solides thermoélastiques, des fluides thermovisqueux et des matériaux électromagnétiques. La section I trait la partie mécanique et thermodynamique de la théorie des milieux continus du point de vue relativiste. Le chapitre II étudie les interactions électromagnetiques avec la matiére. Es werden die Grundgesetze einer relativistischen, speziellen Theorie der kontinuierlichen Medien formuliert, die sich zur Behandlung des elektromagnetischen Einflusses auf Substanzen eignen. Die Erörterung der Kinematik, Dynamik und Thermodynamik eines Kontinuums erfolgt vom relativistischen Standpunkt aus. Für thermoelastische Festkörper, thermoviskose Flüssigkeitskörper und elektromagnetische Substanzen werden Konstitutivgleichungen abgeleitet. Teil I dieser relativistischen Theorie der kontinuierlichen Medien befasst sich mit mechanischen und thermodynamischen Gesichtspunkten, während Teil II elektromagnetische Einflüsse auf die Materie behandelt. Nella Ia Parte si considerano gli aspetti meccanici e termodinamici delia teoria dei mezzi continui da un punto di vista relativistico.
