ResumoThis is a review of the works done at the Vanilla Research Station of Antalaha Madagascar until 1974. Vanilla vines are attacked by several diseases, and chiefly vanilla root-rot, which as soil borne disease is quite difficult to fight. A study of diseases causes and implications is developed. The methods used, and the results reached in breeding vanilla plant for resistance and improvement are exposed.
