ResumoThis article focuses on the position of Portuguese political parties with parliamentary representation, at the outbreak of war in former Yugoslavia. To this end, all plenary interventions were studied between 1993 and 1995, with a common denominator: the discussion of the conflict in Bosnia-Herzegovina.The partisan press was also subject to investigation in order to understand the extent to which this war was reported and operated in the publications of the political parties in Parliament in Portugal. The issues that ultimately guided this research were: How do political parties have shown concern for the situation in former Yugoslavia? What was the position of the political parties with parliamentary representation in Portugal regarding former Yugoslavia and the conflict in Bosnia-Herzegovina and how was this concern evident in their publications? In what way did parliament face the government's position against the war in the Balkans? In short, this is a work that has as its main objective to characterize the position of the political parties in Parliament and its partisan press, against the backdrop of the conflict in Bosnia-Herzegovina (1992-1995).
