Resumo

57Fe Mössbauer measurements have been performed for two kinds of new Fe nitrides that contain nearly 50% N in order to clarify their magnetic properties. The ZnS-type Fe nitride is found to be a non-magnetic substance in which Fe atoms have no local magnetic moments. The NaCl-type Fe nitride is an antiferromagnet and shows rather large hyperfine magnetic fields of 49 and 30 T at 4.2 K.
