ResumoThe article discusses how social values impact organizational management. The article describes the nature of values and how they fit into management proceedings, describing value-action linkages, such as how to attain operational goals. The article also discusses how to discern publicly asserted values with those that are privately held, and uses the Johari window to illustrate these points. The article states that the business world is in value turbulence, and that it is difficult to define issues because so many views are changing as younger generations enter the field, and uses General Motors executive John DeLorean as an example of an untraditional manager who embodies the changing norms in business culture.
