ResumoAbstract Three of 7 patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis had bilateral signal loss confined to the motor cortex on T2‐weighted magnetic resonance images. None of the control subjects had this abnormality. Although not present in every patient, this finding might reflect the primary pathological process of the motor cortex in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
