In this article, information available on the pharmokinetics of psychotropic medications during pregnancy are reviewed. As many women require psychotropic medication in pregnancy, the course of illness during pregnancy and the risk of teratogenecity of each class of medications are covered. The dilemma of the risks ot discontinuing psychotropic medications in pregnancy versus the potential risk of teratogenecity are discussed.
