Resumo

The Algarve coast and particularly the city of Lagos was, very early, permeable to the contacts with the Mediterranean populations. The Monte Molião demonstrates a long diachrony in the occupation of space as an important site on the Iron Age, from the 1st half of the fourth century BC.Of this period are in place materials from the Bay of Cadiz and greek pottery. The occupation was accentuated with the arrival of the Roman people who seem to have installed around the end of the second half of the second century BC.The set of the campanian ceramic, characteristic of Republican Roman period, allows us to observe the installation rhythms from the intensive study on their arrival and presence at Monte Molião.
