ResumoCompact bovine bone subjected to constant torsional load for long periods of time exhibits large anelastic effects. Displacements occur at the cement lines and are responsible for part or all of the long-term deformation. The absence of an asymptotic creep strain is consistent with an interpretation of the cement line as a viscous interface.
