Studies of the Inca complex at Puncuyoc in the Cordillera Vilcabama are decoding its functions as a solar observatory. Horizon markers frame the June solstice sunrise as viewed from two separate platforms consistent with ceremonial stations for observation of the Inti Raymi sunrise. An interior building niche is illuminated on this sunrise by a narrow beam of sunlight shaped by crossed doorjambs. The finely engineered, crafted and preserved stone building, the Incahuasi, has both exterior doors and its sole interior opening aligned with the axes of the December solstice sunrise and the June solstice sunset. Estudios del complejo Inca en Puncuyoc que se encuentra en la Cordillera Vilcabama estan decodificando su funcion como un observatorio solar. Marcadores del horizonte marcan el amanecer del solisticio de junio desde dos plataformas separadas consistiente con estaciones ceremoniales para la observacion del amanecer de Inti Raymi. Un nicho del edificio interior se ilumina por el amanecer del solisticio de junio con un estrecho rayo de sol formado por marcos de puertas cruzados. El edificio de piedra muy bien dirigido, hecho a mano y preservado, el Incahuasi, tiene las dos puertas exteriores y la unica apertura interior alignadas con los ejes del amanecer del solsticio de diciembre y la puesta del sol del solisticio de junio.
