Resumo

National estimates of the prevalence of family history for alcoholism in the USA were investigated using a general population sample of 43,809 respondents 18 years of age and older. Approximately 38% of the total sample reported a positive history for alcoholism. Positive reports were highest for Native Americans and lowest for Asian Americans.
