ResumoAbstract The new species Menacanthus rhipidurae is described and illustrated from three samples of lice collected from South Island fantails (Rhipidura fuliginosa fuliginosa (Sparrman, 1787)) in New Zealand. The morphological relationships of the new species are discussed, along with the taxonomic position of the host in relation to the new louse species.
