Resumo

Acanthosis nigricans has been associated with malignant diseases and endocrinopathy. One of the cases reported herein and a review of 12 others suggest that the onset of acanthosis nigricans may predate a variety of classic autoimmune diseases. The other case being reported now, along with a literature review of 22 cases, suggests that acanthosis nigricans also may be associated with disordered immunoreactivity not fitting any clinically recognizable syndrome.
