ResumoThe Community Federal Center lies in the outskirts of the town of Saint Louis. It was conceived and designed by the project authors — in a style characteristic of them — as a suburban architectonic complex for office use. The work, standing out over an open stretch of land, has an ample base, with a volume that is neither the actual tower of the city centre nor the classic low rural construction. The building's architectonic language permits an integration, by sympathy, in the context of the neighbouring uni-family housing zone, without naturally being assimilated in them, due to the disparity of functions. It is achieved through a fracture of scaled volumes, breaking the classic coldness of the big office building, whilst at the same time thanks to its robustness, it indicates the activity housed inside.
