Resumo

The citrato complexes of oxovanadium (IV) are studied at various pH (3–8) and vanadium concentrations (3–8). 10−3M. Two complexes are found: a mononuclear (1:1) and a binuclear (2:1) one. The electronic spectra of the complexes assign them to the C2v symmetry group. The i.r. spectrum of the mononuclear complex is discussed. Equilibrium studies shows that the binuclear complex is more stable: log β11 = 8·83 ± 0·02 and log β21 = 11·50 ± 0·08 at (20 ± 2)°C and 1 M NaCl.
