Six common dolphin fishes, Coryphaena hippurus Linnaeus, 1758 (Teleostei: Coryphaenidae), were collected from the Aegean Sea coastal waters of Turkey (39°29'N; 26°02'E) and examined for metazoan parasites in July 2006. The parasitic copepod, Peniculus fistula von Nordmann, 1832, was collected from the ventral fin of one specimen. This is the first report of the occurence of the parasite on C. hippurus.
