Resumo

This article intends to be a proposal for Geography teachers concerning the military dictatorship in Brazil, mainly between 1968 and 1979. It defines this age, mainly the period called Brazilian miracle, including informations about the consequences of this time for Geography and contain lyrics from Brazilian Popular Music (MPB), using it as a pedagogical resource in the development of the understanding and the critical analysis from the pupils. Many of the current demographic and social issues in Brazil had its origin during that period and, in order to understand them and to suggest the proper changes, it calls for learning facts and modifications that occurred at that epoch.
