ResumoThe 1992 Nobel Prize in Physics has gone to a virtuoso instrument maker. The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences awarded the prize to Georges Charpak of France “for his inventionand development of particle detectors, in particular the multiwire proportional chamber.”
