ResumoThe tokamak disruption model based on the nonlinear interaction of multiple helicity tearing modes is extended to include diamagnetic effects. This introduces mode rotation and time-varying phases during the nonlinear interaction. The basic nonlinear destabilization mechanism associated with plasma disruptions remains unaffected by diamagnetic effects.
