ResumoThermal stability and temperature-dependent properties of carbon nanotubes are very important for the fabrication of carbon nanotube-based devices. High purity of carbon nanotube matrix was achieved by sieving through Anatop filters. The temperature dependence of G-band in single-wall-carbon-nanotubes matrices and highly oriented pyrolytic graphite is investigated. It was found that the former had significantly higher magnitude of temperature coefficient (−0.044cm−1∕K) compared to the latter (−0.031cm−1∕K). A hypothesis is proposed based on their structural differences in C–C bonds for explaining this variation.
