ResumoAnalyzing the thematic and formal characteristics of six contemporary Brazilian novels, this study explores the use of myth and its ideological implications. The writers examined are Maria Alice Barroso, Clarice Lispector, Jorge Amado, Carlos Heitor Cony, Adonias Filho, and Autran Dourado.
