Resumo

The formation of mixed complexes of vanadium(IV) with trichloroacetate and some neutral oxygen and nitrogen donors is studied using solvent extraction. The composition of the extracting species is VO(TCA)2B3 where B is either an oxygen or a nitrogen donor. The equilibrium constants of the mixed complexes and for the binary VO(TCA)2 are determined. The order of effectiveness of these donors as synergists is found to be Antipyrine > TBP >n-butanol; 4-picoline > 3-picoline > pyridine and isoquinoline > quinoline.
