Historical Linguistics and Language Studies

The objective of this work is to exam the question name in the Grammatica Expositiva (Curso Superior) by Eduardo Carlos Pereira, based on the History of Brazilians Linguistics Ideas. The results of the analyses show that the author used in his book the most important scholar's theories, from the traditional line, like: Nebrija and Reis Lobat; and from modern one, like: Darmesteter, Whitney, Mason, Bain and Júlio Ribeiro, Pacheco and Lameira, Alfredo Gomes, etc., printing modernity in his book and put in it concerns used and discussed until today by several language's students.
