Nous rapportons le cas d'une patiente âgée de 47 ans souffrant d'une hypertension artérielle de longue date. Le mauvais contrôle récent des chiffres tensionnels associé à l'apparition d'une hypokaliémie motive une mise au point complète qui objective une hyporéninémie, un hypoaldostéronisme ainsi qu'une kaliurèse élevée. L'anamnèse répétitive révèle la consommation régulière et en quantité non négligeable de réglisse sous forme de chewing-gum. Les mécanismes physiopathogéniques d'action de la réglisse sont rappelés. We report the case of a 47-year old woman with a long history of arterial hypertension. Because of a recent difficulty to control blood pressure values accompanied by hypokalaemia, a thorough investigation was performed, showing low renin and aldosterone blood levels and high urinary potassium levels. Repeated questionings revealed that the patient regularly consumed non-negligible quantities of liquorice-flavoured chewing-gum. The physiopathogenic mechanisms of action of liquorice are reviewed.
