ABSTRACT This paper presents the time monitoring of the structural behaviour of the “Vélodrome” Stadium in Marseille (built for the 1998 Soccer Worldcup). The surveillance method consists in 3-D computer modelling of the critical structures, adjusting the initial parameters with in-situ tests, and studying the dynamic behaviour of the building by interpreting periodic measurements of the vibratory response.
