ResumoCicatricial pemphigoid in a patient with rheumatoid arthritis treated with D-penicillamineTo the Editor:Cicatricial pemphigoid in a patient with rheumatoid arthritis treated with D-penicillamine was first described in 1977 by Pegum and Pembroke. 1 Recently, at the annual meeting of the British Association of Dermatology, two new cases were reported 2 • 3 and three others were reported by Shuttleworth et al. 4 We have seen another similar case and believe that it supports the suggestion that cicatricial pemphigoid is a complication of D-peniciIIamine therapy in patients with rheumatoid arthritis.
