ResumoMembrane vesicles derived from insect nervous tissue are capable of accumulating choline via a high affinity, carrier‐mediated process with ion gradients as the sole driving force. The transport is strictly dependent on the presence of Na + and Cl − in the medium and is stimulated by a membrane potential.
