ResumoInterest in the evaluation and treatment of the closed knee dislocation has been revitalized over the past several years. The foundation for success in the treatment of a dislocation lies in the management of the posterior cruciate ligament (PCL). Furthermore, advances in the anterior cruciate ligament-deficient knee may lead to other treatment options (ie, early range of motion, delayed reconstruction) for the dislocated knee heretofore not considered. In this article a straightforward operative approach in the evaluation and management of the PCL in the closed knee dislocation (both cruciate ligaments torn) will be presented.
