Resumo

WhenHachirogata Lagoonwas reclaimed to enlarge the agricultural land area, one fifth of the lagoon was left as a catch canal and regulating reservoir which was separated from the Japan Sea by a tidal gate. This regulating reservoir is called the Hachirogata Residual Lake. The water of this lake has been utilized for irrigation and life support in the Hachirogata Reclaimed Land area.Because of insufficient water inflow to this lake, a considerable part of the lake water was reutilized for irrigation and life.
