ResumoThe infrared spectrum of (NH4)2Cr2O7 was investigated from room temperature down to 17°K. Four different phases were observed. At room temperature the infrared spectrum allows the conclusion that the NH+4-ion executes “free” rotation: hindered rotation probably occurs in the lower phases.
